Minimum wage to rise

The government recently announced that the National Minimum Wage (NMW) would rise by 19p to £6.50 per hour.
Approximately one million workers will be affected by the changes, which will be introduced in October.
The NMW for 18 to 20-year-olds will also rise – from £5.03 to £5.13 per hour. Similarly, the rate for 16 and 17 year-olds will increase, also – from £3.72 to £3.79.
