Don't miss the tax deadline

01.10.16

Its autumn and there is a decided chill in the air and so we move closer to the October deadlines for Self-Assessed individuals in the UK. We hope that with a little help from our friends at Method Accounting you've managed to put all your UK taxation matters in order but, if you haven't thought about your tax return yet or if you're new to the UK and need to register as Self-Employed then we recommend you read the following carefully.

The deadline for paper submission of Self Assessed tax returns for the tax year finishing on 5 April 2016 is 31.10.2016. If you want to submit a paper return, you need to have it in by this date otherwise you could be fined. Paper Returns for 2015/16 submitted after 31.10.2016 will attract a £100 penalty. However, if you miss this date you still have until the following January 31st to file it online to avoid a late filing penalty. If the online tax return is not filed by this date an automatic £100 penalty will be charged by HMRC. There are also further penalties for continued late filing of the 2015/2016 tax return, which can be in excess of £1,000.

We've negotiated preferential rates on your behalf. The fee for a basic self-assessment is just £180.00, inclusive of VAT, to Consort contractors. So please do contact Method Accounting today for a free no obligation chat, click here to find out more, or call them on 0800 133 7565.
