1.8m returns still to be submitted
30.01.13
With two days to go until the deadline, HMRC are still awaiting the submissions of almost two million self assessment tax returns, if figures sourced by Sky News are to be believed.
HMRC enforce an automatic £100 fine for anybody who submits their online return late, and with such a high number of people still yet to submit theirs, it looks as though the taxman will be receiving a fair bit of money in terms of penalties next month.
Around 8.8m people have already submitted their tax returns, with 321,000 being submitted yesterday (Tuesday) alone.
Consort would like to remind you that if you are still yet to submit your tax return, then you have until midnight tomorrow (Thursday 31st) to do so online. If you are experiencing any troubles with your tax return, use our partner Taxback.com. They will complete your tax return for you for a reduced fee of £110 (usual price £250).
